The Peepul Centre

The Peepul Centre

PWP Building Services were contracted by Belgrave Baheno Women’s Organisation for The Peepul Centre, Leicester; a 60,000 sq ft flagship community regeneration project fitted out by PWP through a £2.3m Design & Build contract.

Working alongside Miller Construction (Midlands) Ltd and architects Andrej Blonski, PWP delivered mechanical, electrical and other specialist services to support the Centre’s myriad facilities including:

  • Central atrium
  • 350 seat auditorium
  • Restaurant and cyber café
  • Dance centre and gym
  • Training and conference facilities
  • Treatment rooms
  • Child day care
  • Library
  • Administration offices

Working from the initial consultant-led scheme, PWP Building Services made a number of recommendations to further improve the design to meet the client’s expectations, whilst keeping within the original budget.

PWP specialist divisions provided in-house access control, fire & security alarms, CCTV and data transmission systems. Funding for the centre was provided by the EU, Millennium Commission, Arts Council, Sports England, the EMDA, the Lottery Fund, Leicester City Council and Belgrave Baheno.

"We want to inspire each human being that walks in through the doors of the Peepul Centre to be the best that they can be so that we can all step up to creating a more just and peaceful world for all."

Rita Patel, Founder President, Belgrave Baheno
